Two awards for Samuel Bamfo Bredu at the 10th Anniversary Symposium
Samuel Bamfo Bredu of Akita University won both Best Academic Presentation and the People's Choice Award for his research on pancreatic cancer.

Samuel Bamfo Bredu of Akita University was one of the standout presenters at the GSU-Japan 10th Anniversary Symposium on 8 August 2026. He received two of the day's awards: Best Academic Presentation and the People's Choice Award.
His research
Samuel presented "Restoring Connexin 26 Expression Restrains Proliferation and Motility in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Cell Lines" in the academic research session. The work focuses on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, the most common form of pancreatic cancer.
His presentation drove a lively discussion about the mortality rate of pancreatic cancer. Dr. Philemon Kumassah of the Department of Surgery at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital also made an impressive comment highlighting the importance of the research.
