Meet Hyunseo Chu, who came to support friends and stayed for the people
Hyunseo first came to GSU-Japan events to support her Ghanaian friends, enjoyed them so much that joining the team was the next step, and helped organize our 10th Anniversary Symposium.

Hyunseo Chu first came to GSU-Japan events to support her Ghanaian friends. The events were so much fun, and the people so welcoming, that becoming part of the team felt like the natural next step.
She lived in Tokyo until September 2026 while studying for a Master's degree in Public Health at Institute of Science Tokyo, and served on the organizing team of the 10th Anniversary Symposium. She has since moved back to South Korea and starts an internship there in November.
What Hyunseo values most about GSU-Japan is the people: everyone genuinely cares about each other and is ready to help. For her, the union is about more than events and activities; it is also about the friendships built along the way.
She hopes to stay connected with GSU-Japan from Korea.
